Parent/Teacher Sports Day

On Sunday 11th March 2012 5 schools from our Kuala Belait cluster came together to compete against each other in some very demanding sporting activities. PSJ Kampong Pandan School were our hosts and they did well to organise a fun day.
The day started bright and early-
a little bit too bright and early for some people...
There was registration to fill out for the enthusiastic participants..

Then it was action stations for the marching display from
the pared down free-stylin formation of Sungai Teraban
individual flag bearers...
Go Teacher Cathy!
to the practised pom pom waving of another school-wow flash!
There was the opening of the occasion with a speech given by Hj Haris bin Othman who is the District Officer
which our GB enjoyed immensely!

Then the action started-aerobics led by our hosts.
Teacher Julian limbers up on his barre.
Teacher Dennis and Zulbaidi standing by.
Don't worry, be happy...
Then a quick escape from the searing heat....(A walkathon was performed during this time around the Kampong for those heat tolerant)
Up next-
our Futsal Team poised...
...and ready!
Hows that bench? Warm?
Fancy futsal footwork in fancy futsal shoes.
Then the ladies turn-yep Netball-the greatest game ever!
True contenders. Great! We won the toss but the winning streak stopped there...
GB at GS ready for some action.
but it was a bit one way...
Next up the Iron Team-
everyone with nerves of steel and Teacher Dennis a coiled spring....?
We went out hard
and all was looking good until a crippling graze was sustained by Awg Ienue

ending all our hopes and dreams.
The GB's and PGB's got to have a workout as well-
testing their accuracy and strength. First the men and then
ladies- ready..
aim..
fire!
Excellent form GB.

Crowds then gathered for the Tug of War.
Excitement...
(slowly) built amongest our supporters...
Our men were ready sizing up the opposition
but the oppostion had brought in the pro's...
Fierce!

But we had our own secret weapon-the relaxed and happy Teacher "I've got your back" Dennis.
Dangerous position back there Teacher Dennis-we're about to pick up that rope!
It ended badly with casulties.
The girls turn-
What do I do?....some people had a better idea than others!
Staring down the opposition seemed worth a try or for some hamming it up for the camera was another option...
Started so well...
ended so badly...
Don't worry Teacher Musjuana...
Team sport -its all about participating not about the winning - o well maybe next year!
